Last year, the Green Bay Packers Foundation and Greater Green Bay Community Foundation joined together to create Give BIG Green Bay, a community day of giving. In just twenty-four hours, 1,718 donors raised $805,610 to support thirty-one nonprofits in Green Bay, WI.
This year, the Packers Foundation will again provide a $250,000 impact grant to create a matching pool of funds. Bellin Health, Janet and Charlie Leib, and the J.J. Keller Foundation have provided additional matching funds and incentives for a total of $312,500.
Starting at noon on Wednesday, Feb 20, people from all over the world have a chance to donate to one of forty Green Bay nonprofit organizations, have their donation matched, and possibly help their organization qualify for one of the incentive prizes.
UntitledTown is beyond honored to be one of the Give BIG organizations this year. This will be our third year of offering a free, accessible, and inclusive book and author festival – something we could not do without you. It is, after all, because of you that nearly three thousand R.L. Stine fans of all ages got to meet their literary hero. It is also because of you that local high school students had the chance to share their work at their first professional reading. And it is because of you that for an entire weekend, downtown Green Bay buzzed with free workshops and panels by and for readers and writers of all ages.
Please consider contributing to UntitledTown through Give BIG Green Bay. Every dollar or two (especially when matched dollar for dollar through Give BIG) helps us to continue to deliver community-building, literacy-enhancing, city-stimulating, brain-engaging, imagination-gripping events to our great region – for UntitledTown 2020 and beyond!
In conjunction with the kick off of Give BIG, UntitledTown is hosting its first Meet & Greet on Feb 20 of the year at our newest UntitledTown location, Tarlton Theatre. Come say hello to UT Board Members, meet other individuals in our community who are just as excited about literature and poetry as you are, and get a sneak peak at where UT headliners such as author Michael Perry (along with his band, April 25) and performance poet and activist Andrea Gibson (April 27) will be performing.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. (cocktails and food available for purchase) with an introduction and welcome at 6:00 p.m. After a bit of mingling, get read for Comedy City Improv! from 6:30-7, followed by a live update of the first seven hours of Give BIG.
Make sure to mark your calendars for future UT Meet & Greets on March 16 (another chance to check out our newest venue and see the screen adaptation of Walter Mosley’s Devil in a Blue Dress) and April 20 (Story time with Drag Queens). More details coming soon.
