At UntitledTown’s Kickoff Meet and Greet at the Tarlton Theatre, attendees had the chance to eat good food, connect with fellow readers and writers, and learn more about what to look forward to at the 2019 Festival. Comedy City put on an engaging show that had everyone laughing, and the free merchandise and “swag bags” containing advance reader copies of recent novels heightened the excitement for the upcoming Festival. Even Green Bay mayoral candidate Eric Genrich was there to show his support!
Most significantly, however, the Meet and Greet showcased the incredible support we have from people of all backgrounds, and the difference we can make because of it. Because of the support and donations from people like you, UntitledTown has been able to make dreams come true, whether by providing the opportunity to come face-to-face with someone you admire, or by helping to create an inclusive, encouraging community space accessible to all.
This Meet and Greet, which happened partway through the Give BIG Green Bay day of giving of which we are a part, said thank you to all those who have supported us – by attending, by sharing, or by donating – and extended a hand for continued support as we raise money to keep our 150+ Festival events free and open to the public. We’ve already raised almost $9,000, but we aren’t done yet! Help us support storytellers, book lovers, and the literary arts in Green Bay by donating on our Give BIG page, which will be open for donations until noon on February 21.
Everything we do is for the readers, writers, and storytellers that make up our community, but truly, it is because of the people in our community that we are able to do what we do. And that is what UntitledTown Meet and Greets are all about – community.
“Our community’s trust and support have made UntitledTown an event where chance encounters lead to dreams come true.” – Your UntitledTown Co-Presidents
